Health is a lifestyle for me. From the food I eat, to the sleep I get to the people with whom I keep company, I am constantly making the choice that allows me to breathe easier.
If you were stranded on a desert island with one book and one person, which book and which person?
Rainer Maria RIlke's Collected Poems, and my lovely boyfriend Zack. I never seem to tire of either one. Each provides me with constant inspiration, humour, and comfort.
Who have been your greatest teachers?
So many.... to name a few... my third grade teacher and constant poetry mentor and friend Julia Candace Corliss, yoga teachers Michelle Kronenberg, Hala Khouri, Julian Walker, Chris Muchow, and Shannon Paige Schneider, high school teacher Jeremy Michaelson, my cat Chester, my boyfriend Zack, everyone that ever broke my heart, myself.
Who are your idols? Living or not?
All of those above (minus those who broke my heart), Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Michael Cunningham, Rilke, Rumi, Hafiz, Mirabai, the Buddha.
What are the 3 greatest challenges you are facing in your personal growth?
learning how much to strive and how much to let go.
learning to believe that I am enough.
learning how to channel my passions in the appropriate directions.
What 3 things are you doing that most benefit your Health?
yoga, loving, learning constantly.
Describe in two sentences the person you most want to become.
I will become someone who lives from the heart 24 hours a day. Someone who trusts in herself and in the guidance of the universe and loves deeply and without fear.
What is your favorite food?
chocolate.
What is your greatest passion?
yoga and bodywork.
What is your greatest fear?
that I am not enough and that I will not be understood.
